Respite Care for Children with Special Needs

At Beaumont Hospital, Grosse Pointe, we provide respite care for children with special needs so their parents can be away for a short period of time. Our Rest Assured children's respite care program provides around the clock care for medically fragile children including those who are:

developmentally delayed
chronically ill
require special medical attention

About the Rest Assured Children's Respite Care Program

Rest Assured provides respite care for children from birth to 17 years in a unique, secure, comfortable pediatric unit at Beaumont Hospital, Grosse Pointe. A board certified pediatrician is available to coordinate care with your child's primary care physician. Pediatric special needs respite care is provided 24 hours daily.

To access Rest Assured:

Pre-registration is required.
Reservations based on bed availability.
Parents should notify us 48 hours in advance of need.
Charges are based on the family's ability to pay.
Parents should bring all necessary supplies, including:
- clothing and toileting accessories
- medical supplies and equipment
- medications
- special dietary needs

At Beaumont Children's Hospital, we recognize a parent's commitment, intensity and expertise in the care of these special children. We embrace the opportunity to offer these families a well-deserved break from the constant challenges of child care.
