Pediatric Radiology

Our board-certified, fellowship-trained pediatric radiologists studied at prestigious institutions and have years of pediatric experience. Each year they coordinate inpatient and outpatient care for thousands of young patients, working with hundreds of Beaumont Children’s Hospital experts in over 30 medical and surgical subspecialties and services.

Meeting the Unique Needs of Children

Membership in the National Association of Children’s Hospitals and Related Institutions (NACHRI) recognizes the family-centered, child-focused nature of our services. For example, our radiologists are working with a national campaign to reduce radiation exposure for children. Beaumont physicists calculate the lowest dose of radiation possible for each child based on their individual size. We also use advanced pediatric protocols set by the respected Society for Pediatric Radiology for CT and fluoroscopy.

Should your child experience an injury and require imaging, this summer or anytime, David Bloom, M.D, pediatric radiologist at Beaumont Children’s Hospital, offers several tips for selecting an imaging center.

Working with Families Close to Home

Beaumont has 12 convenient locations in Wayne, Oakland and Macomb counties, where pediatric patients have access to radiology services. The Beaumont Children's Hospital is located at the Royal Oak campus, which can supply every imaging need and where the more complicated exams are performed.  You can also speak to the pediatric radiologist at the time of your exam to explain the test, answer your questions and discuss your child's specific situation.
